Lucas County Common Pleas Court

Lucas County Court of Common Pleas is the trial court of general jurisdiction. This means that it hears felony cases as well as civil disputes where the amount of money in controversy exceeds $500 and also has exclusive jurisdiction over civil cases exceeding $10,000.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is responsible for investigating human trafficking, arresting traffickers and protecting victims. DHS initiates hundreds of investigations and makes numerous arrests every year, using a victim-centered approach. Notifies victims of court dates, continuances, motions for early release, and parole hearings. Assists in filing compensation under the Ohio Crime Victims Compensation Programs.
